Franziska Köllner is a researcher at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics, Johannes Gutenberg University, and since 2025 has led the “UTLS Aerosols” project in the Aerosol Chemistry Department at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz. Her research investigates the sources and processes controlling aerosol properties in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, using aircraft observations, mass spectrometry, and modelling to understand global climate and UTLS chemistry. Köllner earned her PhD in Meteorology from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2019.
